[Otclassof1973] COAST 2 COAST STONE TOUR 05

Marvin - Fantastic that you will be seeing the Stones this weekend...and 
what deal having Metallica as the opening act. I think I mentioned, but 
Trey Anastasio opened for the show here at Duke and he was very good! I 
had a VIP parking pass next to the gates to enter the stadium which was oh 
so convenient! We tailgated with a bunch of my co-workers a few hours 
before the show and of course I made time to do a little "stones" 
shopping. I also had a VIP pass to the pressbox (and why the heck not, as 
my office is there!!) and got some great shots. I hung around long enough 
to enjoy the private catered party: free beer, wine, and a huge spread of 
food that stretched the entire length of the pressbox. Then it was back on 
the field, which is where I really wanted to be! A friend of mine was able 
to sneak in her camera and got some really awesome pictures, plus some 
pretty decent video clips. She was in the section right in front of the 
stage...but our seats were even better because when the Stones came down 
the walkway to the auxiliary stage, we were closer to the boys than the 
folks in the front row....so close that we were able to make eye contact 
and smile with them which was a huge kick for me!!! When I get time, maybe 
I'll send some of my shots to Clark so he can post.

So what else is new? Well, tomorrow morning I leave for Jamaica at 6:10AM 
and meet up with 13 of our OTHS classmates for a final celebration of 
turning 50...we figured it was time to do this in style. More details to 
come..

PATTI,

SWMBOs sister asked me to go with her to the Stones concert this coming 
Sunday at SBC Park (just renamed - again! - AT&T Park).  Metallica is the 
opening act.  For the Licks Tour it was Cheryl Crow - the Stones are 
nothing if not eclectic in their selection process.

I've rotated back to my Stones compilation collection and re-downloaded it 
onto my guy-Pod.  Really liking the new album - but mostly I'm looking 
forward to the concert.  Is it Sunday, yet? 

BTW, you never said how YOUR concert went.  I can't be the only one who'd 
like to hear about it.
