! I failed to mention that I won't be going to the games on the 25th
because I'll be visiting family in St. Simons ! Family actually does come
first!!!!

Duke? Did someone mention my name? I love Thanksgiving but it's
interfering with a couple of sports events on Sat, Nov 25. I've got
tickets for the Duke/Carolina football game at noon and for the
Duke/Davidson basketball game at 7pm. I know, I know...Duke/Carolina
football hasn't been exactly exciting this year, what with Bunting on his
way out and Roof close behind him, but Duke/Carolina games are always
fun...if nothing else because of the wild and crazy fans! On the other
hand, the basketball tickets are very hard to come by so I'm very
disappointed I'll be missing that game. Oh well, I'll get a chance later
on in the season...I hope.

Wishing you all a Happy Thanksgiving. I'll be making my deviled eggs again
this year!

So I'm doing one of the crossword puzzles in my local San Francisco
paper (that would be the Chronicle, for all of you playing along at
home). Anyway, the clue for 17 across is for a g-d 15 letter word (15
letters is loooooong in crossword puzzles). Then my brow suddenly
unfurrows when I see the clue is "Springsteen's paper," and suddenly
I'm wondering if I'm the only person in SF able to fill in the answer
without having to rely on working out letters for the words going
down - I'm also thinking, what do people doing San Francisco crossword
puzzles know from Asbury Park Press, anyway?

Last night I was watching Charlie Rose and Charlie's first guest was
Mike Krzyzewski, Duke University's basketball coach. Can any of us
think Duke without thinking Patti? I thought not.

Don't things like this usually come in threes? Before this all gets
out of hand I thought I'd drop an early T-Day greeting on everyone in
the greater OTHS reading area. SWMBO and I will be doing the fowl
deed with her family. Here's wishing each and every one of you a
happy and a healthy. You really have to love a holiday where the only
requirement is overeating. What do I want from all of you? Just a
heaping helping of your e-hospitality.

So, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Besides, it could've been
much worse - I could've written another g-d poem, and trust me, nobody
wants that. Not while they're thinking about food, anyway.

They talk about their Pilgrim blood,
their birthright high and holy!

thinks is melancholy.
