Greetings from the trenches in San Francisco. It's the end of September
and that means the lilt of blues music is heavy in the air. This weekend
is the 34th annual SF Blues Festival and that means I should be asleep
right now.

Friday afternoon is the free lunchtime concert in Justin Herman Plaza,
featuring the MoFo Party Band, Chicago Bob Nelson and Dave Maxwell - all
three bands feature harmonica players. Harmonicas is a theme the
festival producer, Tom, seems quite fond of.

The weather this past week has been awesome. Forget about the seasons we
all grew up with. Here in San Francisco September and October are our
official summer months (In July you'd be better served to pack a parka if
you plan on doing anything after sunset. July's also when we get our
jollies watching tourists shiver in their Hawaiian shirts and Bermuda
shorts - but that's another story).

So, is the Blues Festival scheduled for the end of September to take
advantage of the great weather or so it will coincide with Rosh Hashanah?

It must be the weather, the performers certainly don't look bluish.

Sunday's headliner is Little Richard. I'll tell him the Class of '73
says Good Golly Miss Molly!

Hope everyone's well. I'll try to follow up after all the excitement
dies down.

Marvin
